| Coach Woods has been coaching men's indoor and outdoor track & field at Fitchburg High School, Fitchburg, Massachusetts, since 1983, and men's cross country since 1994. Coach Woods is a 1976 graduate of Fitchburg High School, where he lettered in soccer, indoor and outdoor track & field. Coach Woods competed three more seasons at the collegiate level at the University of Maine, Orono, graduating from that institution in 1980. Woods went on to complete his graduate work at Fitchburg State College in 1985, receiving a Master of Science in Counseling, with a concentration in secondary education. Besides his coaching duties, Woods has been employed by the Fitchburg Public Schools since 1986, and as a guidance counselor since 1989. He is presently working with grades 9 through 12 at Fitchburg High School. |

| June 15, 2000 - Coach Woods was honored by the Sentinel and Enterprise as the 2000 Coach of the Year, for Northern Worcester County High School Sports.
March 5, 2001 - Coach Woods was honored by the Massachusetts State Track Coaches' Association, when he was selected 2000 Coach of the Year, for Spring track & field. For more on these noteworthy events click here. |
| Coach Woods has also gained coaching certification through the National Federation State High School Associations's American Sport Education Program, Coaches Principles Course, 1998, and through the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association's Coaches Principles Course, 1998. Woods was also certified as a USAT&F Level I Coach in all events in 1985, and became Level II Coach certified in the sprints, hurdles and relays in 2000.
Coach Woods is affiliated with the following track & field organizations: certified USAT&F Official; certified Central Massachusetts T&F Officials Association, president; certified Massachusetts T&F Official; Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association, executive board member, Central Massachusetts Representative; and a member of USAT&F. |
